01Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us by phone, email, Instagram, or the message form on our website, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number and message. Messages sent through our website form are emailed directly to our team through our website host. They are not saved on our website.

Booking and appointment information. Online appointments are booked through Squire, our booking and payment provider. Squire collects the details needed to book and pay for your service (for example your name, phone number, email, appointment history and payment information). To give you a consistent experience, our team may also note service preferences in your client profile, such as your preferred haircut length, style, and any sensitivities or product allergies you tell us about.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies, including your device and browser type, IP address and approximate location (city level), pages viewed, time spent on the site, the website or ad that referred you, and actions you take (such as tapping “Book Now” or “Call Now”).

Job applications. If you apply to work with us, we collect the information you send, such as your name, contact details, experience and portfolio or Instagram.

02Cookies, analytics & advertising

Our website uses Google Tag Manager to manage the tools that help us understand how visitors use our site and measure our marketing. Through it, we and our marketing partner may use tools such as Google Analytics and advertising and conversion-tracking tags (for example from Google Ads or Meta) that use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • count visits and see which pages and services are most popular;
  • understand how people find us (search, social media, ads);
  • measure whether our ads lead to bookings or calls; and
  • show our ads to people who have visited our website (remarketing).

These tools collect information about your use of our website over time and may link it with information those companies already hold about you, according to their own privacy policies. We do not use these tools to collect sensitive information, and we do not sell your personal information.

When you first visit, a cookie notice lets you accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page. See Your choices for more ways to opt out.

03How we use your information

  • To book, confirm, remind you of, and provide your appointments and services.
  • To respond to your questions, messages and job applications.
  • To remember your preferences so every visit is consistent.
  • To process payments and keep business and tax records.
  • To understand and improve our website, services and customer experience.
  • To measure and improve our advertising and marketing.
  • To meet our legal obligations and protect our business, staff and clients.

We only use your information for these purposes, or for other purposes we tell you about and, where required, ask your consent for.

04Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed for them to provide their service, including:

  • Squire: online booking, client profiles and payments;
  • Hostinger: website hosting;
  • Google: Tag Manager, Analytics, advertising, Maps and Fonts;
  • Our digital marketing agency: to manage and measure our online advertising; and
  • our email, payment and professional advisers (such as accountants).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Dream Barbers, our clients or others. Some of our service providers store or process information outside of Canada (for example in the United States), where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

05Third-party services

Our website includes an embedded Google Map, fonts from Google Fonts, and links to Squire, Instagram and Google Reviews. When you use these services or follow those links, the companies that run them may collect information under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites.

06Your choices

  • Cookies: use our cookie notice or to accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • Google: manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Interest-based ads: learn more or opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca.
  • Marketing messages: you can unsubscribe from any marketing email or text by following the instructions in it or by contacting us.
  • Photos: we ask for your permission before posting any photo or video of you on our social media. You can ask us to remove one at any time.

07Storage, security & retention

We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, and our team keeps client information confidential. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to people who need it. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example tax records), and then securely delete or anonymize it.

08Access & correction

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to certain uses (subject to legal or contractual limits). Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

09Children

Our website is not directed to children. Appointments for children are booked by a parent or guardian, who provides any information needed for the visit.

10Changes & contact

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with its effective date.
